Salary & Benefits Survey snapshot - Data & Analytics

In 2019 we released our annual Salary & Benefits Survey, a comprehensive report which aims to provide the reader with a clear guide to salaries on offer in their specialism across the media, marketing, tech and creative sectors.

Additionally, our report provides insight into the benefits digital professionals receive, the challenges they face, the reasons why they leave their jobs and more in the hope of helping both employees and employers to better understand what’s happening in their market.

Salary & bonus

Salary satisfaction was high amongst Data and Analytics professionals, with 43% stating they were either ‘Satisfied’ (36%) or ‘Very Satisfied’ (7%).

Salary and bonus were considered the most important factors to consider when faced with the prospect of a new role and bonuses were commonplace. 62% of Data and Analytics professionals received a bonus across all seniority levels and years’ experience.


​Benefits

Health insurance (55%), flexible working (45%) and above statutory pension (40%) were the most common benefits received by Data and Analytics professionals.

Flexible working was the most desired benefits amongst the respondents by some way, with 60% keen to have more flexibility in their working weeks.

Almost a quarter (24%) of those working in Data and Analytics desired unlimited annual leave, the second highest of any group surveyed along with Customer Success professionals.

Reasons to leave their role?

62% of people working in a Data or an Analytics role said they were considering leaving their role within the next 12 months.

An improvement on pay was cited as the main reason to leave (25%), followed by improved progression opportunities (19%) and a new challenge 17%).

A better company culture (11%) and improved benefits (12%) were also common reasons for why they might choose to leave their role.

Job search

Over 50% found their last role with the help of a recruiter or headhunter.

Personal networks (11%), applying to a vacancy directly (14%) and using LinkedIn (also 14%) were also effective methods of finding jobs for Data and Analytics professionals.

Job boards proved to be ineffective with only 5% finding their role this way.
