Job Title: Paid Search Account Manager

Location: West End, London

Salary: 35 - 40K


The Company
Our client is an award winning, successful digital media planning, buying and analytics agency based in Soho, London. A Sunday Times Tech Track top 50 company, they have grown year-on-year and are proud to work with highly reputable clients. They are now a 65 strong agency made up of six core teams: Client Services, Digital Media, PPC, Content & Organic Search, Ad Operations & Tech and Data & Analytics. They operate as 100% independent within the wider Group structure, but also benefit from new business and shared clients from across the Group.

The Job




Account Planning

  • Put together plans to organise mid- term campaign actions and goals
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the client's brand, marketing and business objectives and where search fits within this
  • Input in to client planning, including ensuring roadmaps and plans are kept up to date and tasks are delivered
  • Forecast of campaigns and support for new account initiatives


Campaign Activation

  • Agree and deliver the performance, return on investment and other KPIs as per client briefs
  • Develop campaign strategies that achieve client outcomes
  • Quality control of the output of direct reports, including reviewing work before it's delivered to clients


Campaign Optimisation

  • Manage bidding strategies across accounts and ensure activity spend within budget
  • Deliver in depth analysis to understand performance beyond top line metrics and driving innovation, ideas and strategic guidance across the team
  • Execute and track tests with methodical accuracy
  • Provide key insights on regular reports, identify new opportunities for the activity



  • Integrate activity and have awareness of activity across search (including SEO & content), media and analytics
  • Work alongside Client Directors and other teams to achieve key business objectives, offering insight and direction around the Paid Search activity
  • Identify opportunities for business development amongst existing clients, and both up-sell and cross-sell opportunities


Relationship Management

  • Understand clients' business and the KPIs as well as build partnerships with internal and external parties
  • Production of monthly meeting presentations, including key insights in to performance


People Management

  • Inspire people to contribute and deliver work they take pride in. Leading by example.
  • Management of the Basecamp account for assigned clients and any team members


Thought Leadership

  • Implement Paid Search best practices and contribute to team knowledge sharing
  • Contribute to team growth and knowledge base, providing coaching and overseeing one or more junior team members
  • Training of department processes and use of platforms for direct reports and the wider team


The ideal candidate


  • Experience in the development, management, and coordination of Paid Search (incl Google Shopping) strategies and satisfy the business requirements of client stakeholders at multiple levels
  • 2-4 years in relevant roles



  • An extremely high technical knowledge of PPC and associated technology/suppliers
  • Familiarity with Google Shopping and feed management platforms is advantageous
  • Familiarity with Google Merchant Centre, linking a shopping feed to Google AdWords and/or working with a shopping feed and analysing gaps and opportunities with regards to Google Shopping campaigns is advantageous
  • Demonstrable track record of building profitable Paid Search campaigns
  • Experience working to set CPA, revenue and ROI targets


Managing & Leading people

  • Influences peers to achieve right delivery for client /business Maintains an effective network of contacts
  • One to one supervision and coaching where required
  • Identifies issues and communicates team issues with Client Director and/ or the Head of PPC
  • Influences peers to achieve right delivery for client /business Maintains an effective network of contacts


You will have

  • Experience in an agency environment
  • Experience in the development, management and coordination of Biddable strategies and satisfy the business requirements of client stakeholders at multiple levels
  • High technical knowledge of Paid Search and associated technology / suppliers
  • Will be proactive, solution focused and ambitious - willing to go the extra mile for your clients.
  • Naturally organised and can prioritise and plan and evaluate schedules where necessary
  • Highly competent with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience across the Google stack - DoubleClick for Search, Google Analytics as well as Bing Ads, Search Squared, Basecamp, The Search Monitor (and other similar platforms)
