VP of Engineering - Travel/Lifestyle - £110,000 - £150,000 + Benefits

The Company

Sphere Digital is proud to be in partnership with one of the world's fastest-growing online travel and lifestyle organisations in the Executive search for a VP of Engineering. Our client has received Series B funding in excess of £50M to continue the rapid growth and success they have achieved. Subsequently are looking for a high-tech engineering leader to be the driving force across 50 engineers throughout Europe alongside this you will have broad responsibility for the delivery and execution of high-quality projects and products across the world for the business.

The Job

  • Key Leader of the Engineering team
  • Leading, growing, and aspiring cross-functional teams across two European locations.
  • Responsible for the delivery of high quality and on-time projects and products.
  • Defining and monitoring the software development process.
  • Working closely with the product team to define OKRs.
  • Working closely with the people team to build and maintain development and growth paths for your team.
  • Ensuring growth and development around technical and soft-skills aspects.
  • Proactively work with EMs and the CTO to define a road-map for the architectural work (front end and back end) with a view of defining an e-commerce platform.
  • Work with CTPO, the data platform team, and relevant stakeholders to define the data strategy.
  • Work with QA, engineering, and EMs to define a strategy for automated testing and a plan for execution.


You

  • 7+ years of experience in managing R&D teams
  • Previous experience as a VP R&D of a 50+ sized team
  • Experience in leading a remote team
  • Solid experience in development process agile methodologies.
  • Experience in building great performing, highly scalable teams.
  • Experience in working in B2C companies
  • Experience in working in a hyper-growth environment
