Partnerships

Partnerships roles involve reaching out to prospective clients who would be suitable partners for the business. Not only does the role involve reaching out to new business, a huge part of the role which differs from other sales roles is its strong involvement in building relations with clients.

Partnership Roles

Partnerships roles, Agency Sales or Client Direct Sales careers are tasked with bringing in revenue for their business by selling their company’s product or service directly. These types of roles are typically found within:

  • Media Owners and Publishers
  • SSP’s
  • DSP’s
  • DMP’s (Ad Tech Vendors)
  • Mar Tech Vendors

Partnership roles involve managing existing relationships, working to develop these long-term, usually through multi-year plans, with catch ups at the end of every quarter. The key for partnerships is longevity of relationships.

The main goals of partnership jobs are to grow their number of existing partnerships, drive sales, and build credibility for the business.

Partnership specialists often work closely with marketing teams on partnership strategies, producing collateral to help sell the partnership to new prospects. Partnerships also enhance sales roles by allowing them to have more access to leads.

Agency salespeople will sell their company's product directly to agencies via the planning and buying teams and trading desks. Agency salespeople can work their way up the ranks from exec to MD level. Most MDs of Tech businesses start out in sales!

Partnership jobs do not require deep technical knowledge but they will need to be able to explain technology to clients.
