Job Description: Content QA Lead
Contract – 6 months inside IR35
Hybrid- 2 days in a central London office
You just have the full right to work in the UK to apply
Day rate will be £400-500 per day
Job Summary
As Content QA Lead at a top DTC brand in gaming you own the day to day quality of content within your assigned domain, taking each release from brief through to launch. You run the test cycles, you catch the risks before they reach players, and you are the operational bridge between the teams that create content and the teams that test it.
This role leads delivery rather than strategy. You will lead QA on high priority campaigns independently, own the tracking that tells everyone where quality stands, and escalate systemic problems to the Content QA Manager rather than absorbing them.
Key Responsibilities
QA Delivery Ownership
Own the end to end QA cycle for your domain, including test planning, execution, defect tracking and post launch validation.
Lead QA on high priority and high visibility campaigns independently, including peak trading moments.
Hold the build accountable to the approved brief, identifying and flagging deviations before content goes live.
Make the call on whether content meets the standard for release, escalating to the Content QA Manager where the risk warrants it.
Risk Identification & Gap Analysis
Proactively assess content and journeys for legal, compliance, brand and UX risk before deployment, including missing disclaimers, incorrect terms and copyright gaps.
Conduct gap analysis across website and campaign processes, raising broken or complex user journeys with stakeholders unprompted.
Validate content across multiple languages and regions, checking localisation accuracy and cultural appropriateness.
Engage the relevant campaign lead, producer or project manager early enough that issues can be fixed rather than escalated.
Stakeholder & Partner Management
Act as the operational bridge between delivery partners, campaign managers and project managers, resolving issues across time zones and language barriers before they cause delay.
Serve as first point of contact for QA queries within your domain.
Support project managers on final editorial calls where the campaign lead is unavailable.
Tracking & Forward Planning
Build and own the QA tracker covering first and third party activity, giving the team a single view of what is in flight and what is coming.
Use that view to prioritise testing effort, plan forward, and give early warning of capacity shortfalls.
Report defect trends and recurring issues to the Content QA Manager, with a view on the root cause rather than the symptom.
Team Support & Improvement
Set test plans and direction for Content QA specialists, and review their output.
Mentor junior QA team members and support their development.
Identify manual effort that could be automated and feed it to the Content QA Automation Lead.
Key Skills
Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools and best practice.
Excellent attention to detail, with the judgement to know which issues block a release and which do not.
Proficiency in QA tools and platforms, for example Jira, BrowserStack and CMS platforms.
Strong communication skills, including the confidence to raise problems early with senior stakeholders.
Experience with international teams and localised content.
Familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG, and responsive design principles.
Experience within gaming is a bonus but if not a very DTC brand with a strong customer base.
You must be able to work hybrid for this role- 2 days per week in the clients office in central London.
You must have the full right to work in the UK
