Head of Paid Search - Performance Agency - 6 Months - August Start
A top UK performance agency is looking for a Head of Paid Search to cover an upcoming sabbatical. After some recent successful pitches, you will have the opportunity to make your mark on some of their new clients as well as a range of other established brands they work with. Start date will likely be around the 4th August and will run for 6 months. Although this is a contract opportunity, you will get the chance to have a real impact on their PPC offering, ideally bringing fresh ideas to the table around new tech/innovations and AI. They are looking for an exceptional client lead with a very strong technical understanding of PPC so if you feel like you fit the bill, please apply!
The role:
Client Strategy & Leadership:
Own and drive PPC strategy across the agency's most complex and high-value accounts. Elevate client conversations, uncover performance gaps, and create forward-thinking strategies.Innovation & Technology:
Be a voice for innovation within PPC, whether that's automation, AI, platform changes, or testing new approaches.New Business Support:
Assist in strategy and narrative for pitches (likely not presenting or owning the pitch as a contractor).Account Audits & Strategic Gap Analysis:
Drop into accounts to audit performance, identify missed/new opportunities, and steer channel owners toward optimised strategy.Leadership Support (Not Full Ownership):
Float across accounts, adding senior PPC oversight. Collaborate with existing channel leads and senior leadership.Team Empowerment vs. Direct Management:
Not expected to handle operations or line management directly. Focus remains on strategic impact rather than daily people management.Light Platform Work (if needed):
While this is a high-level role, some ability to go into platform may be helpful on occasion.
You:
Proven PPC background - ideally agency-side
Senior level strategic thinker with hands-on capability if needed
Experienced with enterprise-level clients / large-scale account structures
Client-facing - taking briefs and turning them into actionable strategies
Comfortable with team oversight, auditing, and troubleshooting complex PPC setups
Pitch strategy experience
