Purpose
We are looking for an experienced Interim IT Director to lead our IT department during a period of transition for the team and business as a whole. The candidate will be tasked with overseeing our IT Operations and infrastructure, integrating technology solutions, leading strategic IT initiatives, and designing a future state operating model for our technology, digital, and data department. This role reports directly to the Chief Financial & Operating Officer and spans the retail (store and online), wholesale and brand business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic IT Planning and Execution: Continue execution of transitional IT strategy that supports the company's business objectives, including designing a future state operating model for the technology, digital, and data department.
  • Operational Leadership: Provide day-to-day guidance and management of the IT team, promoting a collaborative environment, and ensuring their professional development and performance management.
  • Technology Management: Oversee the maintenance, enhancement, and strategic integration of IT systems, including hardware, software, and networks.
  • Project Management: Lead key IT projects, particularly those related to the development of the new operating model, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, negotiate contracts, and ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Cybersecurity Oversight: Oversee strong cybersecurity operations, conduct regular security reviews, and ensure compliance with all relevant data protection regulations.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the IT budget, promoting cost-effectiveness and resource optimisation for opex and capex.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main IT contact among stakeholders, including senior management and external partners, particularly for initiatives related to the new operating model.


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a retail or closely related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in IT strategic planning, execution, and team leadership.
  • Deep understanding of retail management systems ERP (Microsoft Dynamics), e-commerce platforms (Salesforce CC), CRM software, POS and modern data technologies.
  • Proven track record of managing IT projects and operational teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of current IT technologies and trends, especially those relevant to retail.

Desired Skills:

  • Strategic thinker with a strong problem-solving orientation.
  • Capable of adapting quickly to changing environments and managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience in designing and implementing operating models in technology domains.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, data analytics, and business intelligence tools.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or similar.
