Platform Operations Manager

London | Hybrid

Sphere Digital Recruitment are working with a leading global media and marketing organisation to recruit a Platform Operations Manager. This is a pivotal role sitting within the operations function, responsible for owning and optimising the infrastructure that underpins world-class digital and biddable media execution.

The Role

Reporting into the Operations Director, you will take ownership of the organisation's marketing platform ecosystem, ensuring internal teams have seamless access to the tools, systems, and structures they need to deliver best-in-class campaigns.

This is a highly collaborative, global role requiring strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate across multiple distributed teams. You'll act as the go-to expert for platform setup, governance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across a complex ad tech stack.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Management

  • Own and define best practice for marketing platform setup and integrations
  • Design, implement, and maintain ad account infrastructure across 25+ platforms
  • Lead platform restructure projects to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Manage user access and permissions across GMP, DSPs, and paid social platforms, ensuring security and accessibility
  • Oversee all administrative aspects of ad platforms, including finance and legal compliance
  • Support the evolution of the internal service desk to manage platform and access requests effectively

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with global activation teams and local market stakeholders
  • Partner with platform representatives to stay ahead of best practices and product developments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (activation, data, tagging, finance, brand safety) to ensure smooth delivery of platform-related projects

About You

  • Strong experience working with digital marketing platforms, including GMP, DSPs, and paid social ecosystems
  • Deep understanding of ad account structures (hierarchies, audiences, pixels, billing, etc.)
  • Solid knowledge of the end-to-end campaign lifecycle and how platform infrastructure supports it
  • Understanding of biddable media across programmatic, social, and search (hands-on experience beneficial)
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Strong analytical skills, with confidence working in Excel and interpreting data
  • Experience managing or mentoring others is advantageous
  • Passion for continuous learning and sharing knowledge with others
