Job Title: Project Manager
Contract Length: 6-month contract- Outside IR35
Day Rate: £550-£600 per day
Working Model: Hybrid - 2 days remote, 3 days in the client's London Zone 1 office

A leading client of ours in the retail sector is seeking a Project Manager (PM) to lead the successful planning, execution, and delivery of a Product Information Management (PIM) implementation. The PM will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage the implementation partner, oversee scope and schedule, and ensure alignment with business requirements from initiation through deployment and post-launch stabilisation.

Role Objectives

  • Deliver a fully functioning PIM solution that meets business, technical, and operational needs.

  • Ensure data governance, workflows, and integrations are properly designed and implemented.

  • Support organisational readiness for the transition to a centralised PIM system.

  • Deliver the project on time, within scope, and within the approved budget.

Responsibilities and Activities

  • Develop the project charter, detailed project plan, and scope definition.

  • Establish project governance structures (steering committee, working groups, escalation paths).

  • Manage the project budget, timeline, communication plan, and resource planning.

  • Define key milestones, deliverables, and success metrics.

  • Support vendor onboarding and ensure alignment between contract terms and implementation activities.

  • Coordinate requirements-gathering sessions with business, IT, and product teams.

  • Ensure documentation of functional and non-functional requirements, including taxonomy, data models, workflows, and governance needs.

  • Validate alignment between business objectives and PIM platform capabilities.

  • Manage review and approval of solution design documentation.

  • Act as the primary liaison between the client and the PIM implementation partner.

  • Lead daily stand-ups, sprint ceremonies, and/or status meetings depending on delivery methodology.

  • Oversee configuration and customisation activities.

  • Manage integration streams (e.g., ERP, DAM, eCommerce, syndication platforms).

  • Coordinate UAT planning, execution, and defect resolution.

  • Oversee data migration activities including mapping, cleansing, enrichment, and validation.

  • Identify risks and issues and maintain a RAID log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies)
