In 2019 we released our annual Salary & Benefits Survey, a comprehensive report which aims to provide the reader with a clear guide to salaries on offer in their specialism across the media, marketing, tech and creative sectors.

Additionally, our report provides insight into the benefits digital professionals receive, the challenges they face, the reasons why they leave their jobs and more in the hope of helping both employees and employers to better understand what’s happening in their market.

Salary & bonus

When looking for their next job, salary and bonus was rated as either ‘Important’ (19%) or ‘Very Important’ (81%) by every one of the sales professionals who took the survey.

Half of all respondents were either ‘Satisfied’ (45%) or ‘Very Satisfied’ (5%) with the salary they received.

Unsurprisingly, given the nature of the role, 90% received a bonus, the highest percentage of any specialism surveyed.

​Benefits

Health insurance (40%), flexible working (37%) and above statutory pension (30%) were the most common benefits among sales professionals.

Flexible working was the most desired benefits amongst the respondents with 49% keen to have more flexibility in their working weeks.

Reasons to leave their role?

54% said they were considering leaving their role within the next 12 months.

Despite half the respondents being either ‘Satisfied’ or ‘Very Satisfied’ with their salary, 26% would leave for improved pay. 21% said they’d leave for better progression opportunities and 18% would leave for a different career challenge all together.


Job search

Working with a recruiter or headhunter was the most popular choice when it came to sales professionals finding their last role with 48% finding their current job in this way.

A quarter tapped into their personal networks in a bid find their jobs.
