My client is an established and highly respected technology business specialising in digital solutions for the publishing industry.
Working with publishing groups across multiple international markets, they provide innovative technology that helps publishers accelerate their digital transformation, improve audience engagement and deliver premium content experiences across multiple digital platforms.
Having built an excellent reputation within their market over many years, the business is entering an exciting period of growth and investment. As part of this, they are looking to appoint a Business Development Director to lead and develop their new business sales function.

The Job
- Lead the new business sales function, taking ownership of driving new customer acquisition across enterprise publishing organisations.
- Manage the full enterprise sales cycle, from prospecting and discovery through to negotiation and closing.
- Sell a market-leading SaaS platform on a licence-based commercial model, with typical deal values ranging from £50,000 to £200,000.
- Manage and develop an existing Business Development Manager while helping shape and grow the wider new business function over time.
- Represent the business at major industry conferences, networking events and customer meetings across Europe and internationally.
- Build relationships with senior decision-makers including Commercial Directors, Digital Directors, Product Leaders and C-suite executives.
- Collaborate closely with internal product, delivery and customer success teams to ensure a seamless customer onboarding experience.
- Play an active role in developing the company's commercial strategy as it continues to expand into new markets.
- Remote-first opportunity, with occasional travel to the UK office and customer meetings.
Experience required:
- MUST HAVE experience selling enterprise SaaS, license-based or digital technology solutions, directly into publishers and/or media owners.
- MUST HAVE a strong track record of winning new business and managing complex enterprise sales cycles.
- Comfortable selling six-figure solutions to senior stakeholders and executive decision-makers.
- Experience leading customer presentations, pitches and commercial negotiations.
- Previous management experience, or a genuine desire to mentor and develop sales talent, would be a bonus.
- A confident, energetic and ambitious individual who enjoys building new relationships and identifying commercial opportunities.
- Comfortable representing the business externally and acting as a credible ambassador within the industry.
- Someone excited by the opportunity to build, develop and scale a growing commercial function rather than simply inherit an established sales team.
